My name is Amanda Copenhaver. I am 32 years old. I am a single mother to a beautiful son. I am originally from Littleton Colorado. I have lived in San Diego, California for 16 years. I have been an artist all my life. I currently work for the military by profession and have been for 13 years. I try to create art every day to add to my portfolio. I have arthritis through out my body, so I am trying to put out as much art as I can before I can't draw anymore. My art work is very important to me. It expresses my inner soul in ways that I can't other wise. My mediums are traditional pen and pencil combined with mix media. Most of my works are stippled. I know it sounds crazy but I almost go into a meditative state when I stipple my works. I really enjoy the use of color. I am also trying to express the use of light in my works. I would say my art is a mix of abstract, surrealism, and traditional pencil drawings. I use trees as a focal point in my pieces because I believe trees express beauty and emotion in so many different ways. Drawing trees for me is very similar to drawing the curves of a female body. I never finished college but if I had I would have majored in graphic design. Life just happened.
