This illustration is part of a series I started during the pandemic's second wave of ordinary people in Italy, my country. I always found fascinating the characters who inhabit our cities without people paying much attention to them. So, this year, also to cast out the loneliness of these challenging times we're living, I finally began drawing some of them. They were really enjoying their talk, so much that they never once noticed me drawing them. These two friends had so much to tell each other that they couldn't stop talking, even when the sun sank. It was such a precious moment to witness! For this piece, I used a mixed technique: I used inks, watercolor pencils, and oil pastels on watercolor paper.
