Back to Model Sketching This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 18-05-20 (Sold)’ takes me back to model sketching. Last session with my model was fruitful. I had a mirror in mind like I used in my drawing ‘In hoc signo – 14-10-19 (Sold)’. Most satisfied with the result I was and a woman in England must have agreed with me. She bought it instantly. Sales are inspirational so enter new session. As always I made a list of poses for my regular model and reflections were on the menu again. The Rokeby Venus However, I left aftorementioned and intended mirror for this session out of the equation. Even though I had this idea of her reflecting in the evening hours it didn’t just work that well. Instead I start sketching her without. Strange how the subconsciousness must work.
