The Weight We Carry

Exhibition Title: “The Weight We Carry” Concept: This series of figurative paintings explores the invisible emotional and psychological weights people carry in daily life. Each portrait features solitary figures in intimate, vulnerable poses — seated, hunched, standing still — with exaggerated or abstracted body language revealing tension, grief, longing, or resilience. The figures are rendered realistically but placed in surreal or minimal settings, emphasizing the internal over the external world. Some figures appear with symbolic objects on their backs, in their hands, or hovering above them — metaphors for burdens like expectation, memory, anxiety, or hope. Visual Style: Expressive realism with muted tones contrasted by occasional bursts of color (symbolic elements). Soft lighting, textural brushwork, and emotionally charged facial expressions create a haunting and intimate atmosphere.
