A variation and nod to the dime-store comic books of the 1960s/70s, when a wild and weird assortment of novelty items were regularly featured for sale in the pages of comic books. Readers had an amazing selection of items to choose from in each edition. From Sea-Monkeys to LIFE-SIZE monsters to X-Ray Vision glasses, and more! The optical illusion of these X-Ray Specs was a miniature feather fastened between the two layers of the glasses' cardboard frame, that gave the blurred illusion of an X-Ray effect. Kids in those days were more easily amused. Acrylic, latex, and ink on sheet metal, 3' x 3' Created in 2022
