This is a pen and ink portrait of a friend who worked as a beach pirate at Hampton Beach NH. He would pose with tourists for a small fee. I am left handed and have a damaged left hand from a gym accident in high school. I basically can not draw a straight line, but I taught myself to draw by copying the masters especially Rembrandt. This is a style I developed based on my earlier copies I did of Rembrandt works just to learn how he composed and used line. Basically there is minimal line in this rendering but the composition is Rembrandt -ish! I can still render in this style for commission portraits. limited edition on canvas of 10 signed and numbered.
