A Bit of Impressionism This graphite pencil drawing ‘Bergen - 10-04-20 is a bit of impressionism. Nothing more different from the last one, called ‘Oosterbeek - 08-04-20’. Lately I made a couple of them in small A6 format. They are mostly made of the area in which I live. This sketch concernts a different area though. Some time ago I went to visit Museum Kranenburgh at Bergen, North Holland. There I also captured ‘Het Oude Hof’, a famous manor nearby. Legend has it all great impressionist, post-impressionist, luminist and expressionist dutch painters painted it one time. Names like Mommie Schwartz, Else Berg and Leo Gestel instantly come to mind. The capture turned into a great drawing I sold quickly so I thought I’d emulate that success with a subsequent drawing.
