When I was a child I spent the most part of my summers with my father’s family in Kentucky. I used to see signs on every thing from drinking fountains to store entrances. “Whites Only” “Coloreds Only”. I didn’t understand it then and still don’t today. I often wondered, being white, what would the Coloreds only water do to me if I were to drink it. My father said you would probably be arrested. OIL ON CANVAS
